NC bill would allow concealed guns without permit

 https://www.thetrace.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Concealed-Carry-MO__2.png

It would be easier to legally carry concealed handguns under a gun-rights bill that began moving in the state House on Wednesday.

Concealed-carry permits would no longer be needed if the legislature passes House Bill 746. It’s already legal to wear a visible handgun, except where restricted. Concealed handguns would be treated similarly under the bill.

Blame Abraham Lincoln for Confederate Monuments

George Orwell, in his dystopian novel 1984, wrote that “Ignorance is strength.” Big Brother thrives on it – whether in a totalitarian regime or in a pure democracy. In his government schools it would be easy and politically profitable for Big Brother to teach ignorance with flash cards. Take for example the “Civil War,” one of the defining events of American History:

Card #1: The War was fought over slavery.

Card #2: Lincoln freed the slaves.

Card #3: End of Story – Any Questions?

Well, yes. Wars are not fought over other peoples’ labor systems. They are fought over the control of energy resources. May we bring up the flash cards for Algebraic Equations and apply them to a comparison between England’s War to Prevent Colonial Independence in 1776 and the United States’ War to Prevent Confederate States’ Independence in 1861? Please pay attention as we develop these cards, which will be based upon an understanding of Mercantilism as an economic system for the control of energy resources.

Trump: Paris deal was 'massive redistribution of United States wealth' & Trump energy agenda gets boosts

Trump argued

President Trump said Thursday that he had decided to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate deal because it imposed unfair restrictions on American energy while allowing other signatories to develop theirs.

"We have among the most abundant energy reserves on the planet," Trump said during a speech delivered at the White House. "Yet under this agreement we are effectively putting these reserves under lock and key."

Trump said he was willing to work with Democrats to re-enter the Paris pact or craft "something that's much better than the Paris accord," but only on terms that proved more favorable to the American economy.

"The reality is that withdrawing is in America's economic interest and won't matter much to the climate," Trump said. "We will be environmentally friendly, but we're not going to put our businesses out of work."

Painting stripes on cows, parachuting dogs and garlic chocolate tanks, how Britain's ingenious tricks fooled the Nazis

Via David

An Essex farmer paints a herd of black cows with white stripes in case they should wander on the road after dusk, so they will be visible to the motorists in the blackout

When fighting the might of the Nazi regime that had spread across much of Europe during the Second World War, Britain required more than the skill and bravery of its lionhearted troops on the ground.

Although the Armed Forces are rightly praised for the ultimate sacrifice they gave to their country, a new book reveals how bizarre feats of ingenuity such as exploding animal dung and garlic chocolate also played a part in toppling the fascist epidemic.

And it was not just behind enemy lines where Britons were thinking outside the box, with several extreme measures taken on the home front, such as decoy tanks, to minimise the damage done by the Luftwaffe.

'Paradogs' were also dropped behind German lines to accompany D-Day troops and sniff out mines.

Nearly 3 of 4 states join Trump's fight to end sanctuary cities, illegal immigration

Two thirds of the nation's states have taken action to join in President Trump's bid to crackdown on illegal immigration and "sanctuary cities," a sweeping national move that would bolster the administration's effort even if it loses in the Supreme Court.

The Migration Policy Institute reports that 33 states have moved to choke off illegal immigration, led by Texas which OK'd a law to block cities from giving "sanctuary" to illegals.

"While Texas was the first state to pass a sweeping law focused on illegal immigration since the presidential election, at least 32 other states have introduced immigration enforcement bills," said the Institute.

Rocker and one-time White House guest Ted Nugent said Thursday he stands by his 2016 comment that Hillary Clinton should be tried and hanged for treason for her response to the 2012 terror attacks in Benghazi.

"I've never threatened to hang anybody. I've never suggested anybody get hung, except the one time after Benghazi, I recommended that Hillary Clinton be charged, arrested, tried and hung," Nugent said in an interview Wednesday with conservative radio host Ben Ferguson. "What she did as secretary of state was certainly treasonous, and I stand by that." (Amen)

Politically Correct History Abolitionist Terrorism and Legislative Tyranny Remembered as Virtue

On the slavery issue, Lincoln and most Northerners, like most Southerners, thought emancipation should be gradual, just as it had been in the North. However, neither Lincoln nor most Northern whites had very sympathetic attitudes toward blacks. Moreover, Northerners actually feared that emancipated Southern slaves might emigrate to the North. Only a tiny minority of radical abolitionists wanted an immediate end to slavery, which disregarded the economic consequences to the South and the freed slaves.

Emails also show Abedin providing government plane and hotel reservations to Chelsea Clinton for trip to Germany while employed at Clinton Foundation

Abedin tells Band that she has ‘hooked up’ people from the Russian American Foundation with ‘the right people’ at the State Department

Judicial Watch today released 2,078 pages of documents revealing more instances of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sending and receiving classified information via an unsecured email server. They also show Clinton’s daughter Chelsea and others involved with the Clinton Foundation receiving special favors from Huma Abedin, the former secretary’s deputy chief of staff.
The records were obtained in response to a court order from a May 5, 2015, lawsuit filed against the State Department (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00684)) after it failed to respond to a March 18, 2015, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking: “All emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-‘state.gov’ email address.”

The new documents included 115 Clinton email exchanges not previously turned over to the State Department, bringing the known total to date to at least 432 emails that were not part of the 55,000 pages of emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department. These records further appear to contradict statements by Clinton that, “as far as she knew,” all of her government emails were turned over to the State Department.

Confederate monuments: Group blasts Mitch Landrieu over vandalism

Via Billy

The monument of Charles Didier Dreux, a Confederate soldier, was defaced, according to the Monumental Task Committee.

A pro-Confederate monuments group is accusing Mayor Mitch Landrieu of ignoring the vandalism of several sites that remain standing around New Orleans. Most notably, the Monumental Task Committee points to the damage done to a lesser-known monument to Charles Didier Dreux, releasing photos of the monument's nose having been broken off and spray painted with an anarchist symbol.

Dreux's statue honors his status as the first Confederate officer from Louisiana to be killed during the Civil War. It is a smaller, little-noticed monument that sits across Canal Street on the neutral ground across from the former location of the Jefferson Davis monument, one of four the city removed between April 24 and May 19.
