Richmond, VA Monument Avenue Alert/Call To Action

ALERT: Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21st, the City of Richmond's Land Use, Housing and Transportation Standing Committee will meet at 1pm and will consider and vote on the ridiculous resolution introduced by Councilman Michael Jones, asking the General Assembly for approval to remove every single monument on Monument Avenue. Please attend if you are able!  Meeting Location:  Council Chamber, 2nd floor of City Hall, 900 East Broad Street.

Our peaceful presence at this committee meeting as concerned residents of Richmond opposed to the destruction of our historic fabric will be important. We also urge all of you to contact councilwoman Kim Gray who is co-chair of this committee and opposed to this resolution, encouraging her to work with Chairman Ellen Robertson and other members to to promptly vote against and dismiss this egregious resolution which is nothing but a distraction from the real issues and needs facing our city.

  1. Your peaceful presence will do nothing,
but facilitate the removal of EVERY monument
    on Monument Avenue.
